Known Nijni abbreviated name, is the fourth city of the Russian Federation, after Moscow, St. Petresburg and Novosibirsk. Has a population of 1,311,252 inhabitants. Between 1932 and 1990, the town was named Gorki, so named in honor of the writer Maxim Gorki.

Krakow is one of the oldest and largest cities of Poland. In 2005 city population was over 750,000 inhabitants, the agglomerate part being over 1 million inhabitants. Wawel Cathedral is possibly the most historic place of Poland.
