Castelo de Sao Jorge

Situated on a hill that dominates the ocean, Castelo de Sao Jorge (last known as the Lisbon Castle) played a major role in the history of the country. First, the castle was ready for battle by King Joao I, which gave its name or fortress, in the XIV century, but until the Spanish occupation had time glory, and the old castle was ruined. It sheltered in the past a prison, a barracks and even a fort which was almost completely destroyed in 1755, after an earthquake.
In early twentieth century the castle came to the attention of new Portuguese government, has been reconsidered as an objective history and have started ambitious works of restoration and renovation, to finally turn in the museum. Today, Castelo de Sao Jorge is one of the most important tourist attractions and historic sites in Portugal, and towers, gates and archways bring to life the charm of a tumultuous history, the castle was constantly assaulted by tourists and locals, especially as entry is free.

The fortress is situated on the border between Transylvania and the south part of Carpathians. Frequently known as "Dracula's Castle", it is known as the home of the titular character in Bram Stoker's Dracula. The first documented mentioning of Bran Castle is the act issued by Louis I of Hungary on November 19, 1377, giving the Saxons of Kronstadt (Braşov) the privilege to build the stone citadel; the settlement of Bran began to develop nearby. At Bran Castle you are able to see imposing towers and turrets; collections of furniture, weapons and armor dating from the 14th to the 19th; narrow winding stairways that lead through some 60 timbered rooms. It is possible to explore the castle or individually or to join a guided tour from which you may get more out of your trip to Bran Castle.

Peles Castle

Situated in Sinaia at 44 km from Brasov and at 122 km from Bucharest ,sinaia-peles-castleis one of the most important museum from Romania, also being the place where had spent the last moments some Romanian monarchs ,one of this was king Carol I who died there in 1914.
The construction of the castle began in 1873 and was inaugurated on 7 October 1883.The location of the castle has been chosen by the German King carol I the Hohenzollern and the name was set as the name of the river which passes through it court. The castle was built from wood, stone, marble and brick and it has more than 160 rooms. The prevail style is that of German renaissance but it can be identified others elements of Italian renaissance, gothic, German baroc, and French rococo style.
